Microsoft Announces Vision for Security + Management

Today Microsoft hosted a customer event in Los Angeles to present their vision for integrated security and management solutions and announced product milestones under the Forefront and System Center brands. In a keynote address Microsoft Senior Vice President Bob Muglia launched two new products called:

Microsoft Forefront Client Security which helps protect business desktops, laptops and server operating systems from viruses, spyware, Trojans, and other current and emerging threats.

Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007 which provides a unified management solution to help IT professionals in midsize organizations proactively and efficiently manage their IT environment.

Forefront security solutions are built on the deployment, reporting and remediation capabilities of System Center management solutions, so customers save time and effort securing and managing their environment through one management infrastructure. And both Forefront and System Center product lines have been designed to integrate with existing IT environments. To simplify the task of securing and managing those environments Microsoft will continue to drive deep integration between management and security solutions to help customers more dynamically address and enable key scenarios, including: identity and access, change & configuration management, service management, problem resolution and reporting.
