Quick Poll: Operations Manager 2007 Dialogs

Are you also experiencing (lots of) feedback around the Distributed Application designer and specifically the Create component group dialog? Well, most of my clients ask me how to find the class that they want to use as objects in their Distributed Application designer . Because of the specialization model, and the knowledge they are missing to discover how "their" class specializes, they often ask me where - for instance - the DB objects are (are any other, for that matter):

Because of my experience I can point them in the right direction, but I was wondering if you also are getting these questions. It seems to be a great problem when they are designing their Distributed Application and get stuck finding the objects. Wouldn't it be easier if the dialog just got redesigned to include a search function, so that they could type in the name of the Class? Here's a sample, to show you what I am thinking of:

I love to hear what you are experiencing in "the field" ... you can leave a comment, to send your feedback. Thanks!

Yes! You read my mind! The other day with a colegue of mine I was telling him the same thing, it can be really difficult to find the right components when you are trying to create a distributed application.

If they can include that with SP1 would be great! :)

Cheers!

Hi Maarten, \nJust back from holiday so finally time to read all the posts on your website and I agree with you. It’s a little bit like where to find the right place for a policy in AD. So it would be nice to have an easier way to find objects.\nRegards,\nStefan Stranger
