Naming convention

KB316112 clearly states why the naming convention among other things should be an important part of any planning:

It states: Domains that use cookies must use only alphanumeric characters ("-" or ".") in the domain name and the server name. Internet Explorer blocks cookies from a server if the server name contains other characters, such as an underscore character ("_").

The solution they present is to rename the affecting domain or server. So, be sure that you only use alpha-numeric characters and "-" in your naming and no other characters!
